Full Speed Ahead Through 2016

With the summer and 2016’s halfway point approaching, Vlado has a plethora of exciting, diverse projects on deck for the next several months, ranging from classic rock and New Orleans funk to world music and avant-garde electronica.

Among the spring releases featuring Vlado’s famous finishing touch are Pitchfork “Best New Music” honoree ANOHNI and her “crushing and glorious” just-released album HOPELESSNESS (Secretly Canadian/Rough Trade); and Norwegian electronic metal group Combichrist’s This Is Where Death Begins (Out of Line Music) and inventive Brooklyn beatmaker/vocalist Xenia Rubino’s Black Terry Cat (Anti Records), both out June 3.

Later this summer, fast-rising British rockers Biffy Clyro will release their highly-anticipated album Ellipsis (Warner Music UK); classic rock legends Kansas will unveil their latest, The Prelude implicit (InsideOut Music); and genre-bending Israeli trio Balkan Beat Box and New Orleans funk mainstay John ‘Papa’ Gross of the group Papa Grows Funk also have new music on deck – all mastered by Vlado.

And of course in addition to all of these releases, Vlado continues to have an ear to the local Charleston, S.C. scene, where he hosts his in-depth mastering workshops at Truphonic Studios and is working on the upcoming album from local act Stop Light Observations, whose melancholy single “Dinosaur Bones” has been gaining a ton of early buzz.

As always, the master of mastering could not have more on his plate and cannot wait for it all to see the light of day!

Vlado On Lou Reed’s ‘RCA & Arista Album Collection’

Vlado is proud to have worked on mastering late rock legend Lou Reed’s much-anticipated Lou Reed – The RCA & Arista Album Collection box set, due out October 7. The collection spans 16 remastered studio and live albums released under Reed’s name following his departure from the Velvet Underground, including Transformer, Berlin, and Rock ‘n Roll Animal.
Vlado commented on his involvement with the project: “It was an honor to work so closely with Lou on this project. He was incredibly emotional and excited about going back and remastering all of these records, and I look forward to the whole world being able to hear them in a new light.”
